William Doern A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, in First Presbyterian Church in Portland for William Doern, who died Oct. 27 at age 91. Mr. Doern was born May 9, 1909, in Portland. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1933. He was the owner of American Brush Co. in Portland for about 30 years until retiring in 1974. He moved to King City in 1984 and then to Wilsonville last year. He was a member of the church. In 1935, he married Gladys Kurati; she died in 1994. Survivors include his daughters, Betty Martin and Eileen Tellefson; son, Bill Jr.; brother, Henry; sisters, Alma Melott and Marie Mays; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the William Doern memorial fund at First Presbyterian Church in Portland.
