Carl Antone VanDyke, Born May 22,1932 St. Paul, Oregon.  Parents are Theodore (Ted) M and Nellie (Petronella) VanDyke.  He attended school at St. Paul and worked on the family farm.  While burning hop vines one day one of his legs was scorched by the flames which affected him throughout his life.  He was inducted into the Army and suffered several bouts of pneumonia and was given a medical discharge.   He later worked on a dairy farm near Tigard, Oregon for several years, then at a wood mill making pallets.  Carl was stricken with throat cancer requiring the removal of his voice box.  He then went to work at Gates Rehabilitation Center doing custodial work. Carl died in 2002 of Cardiac arrest.
