John Van Dyke born March 17,1873 ; De Pere , Wisconsin . He traveled to Verboort Oregon in 1880 at age 7, with his parents and family Theodore and Mary Van Dyke 1880 by way of railroad to SanFrancisco, then by river boat to Portland.

John Married Constance Hermans and farmed on his farm in Verboort Oregon. At retirement he and Constance sold the farm and moved into a house on the west side of the Verboort Church where they lived out the rest of their lives.. John died in Verboort on April 15, 1957

John was a tinkerer and made many items that were made for a practical purpose or just entertainmnet to watch and play with.

 

John was well known in the community as BULL JOHN due to his stubbornness
