Richard Von Hollen, 84, enjoyed bowling Richard "Dick" E. Von Hollen, Sr., 84, Hillsboro, died Dec. 25, 2009, at his home. Services have been held. Richard Von Hollen was born Sept. 1925 in Orleans, New Brunswick, son of Chris and Helena Von Hollen. He lived in Orleans until the age of 13, when his family moved to Portland area. He later graduated from Hillsboro High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946. On Oct. 22, 1947, he married Ruth Dickman, in Bethany. He worked as an office manager for automobile dealerships in Beaverton and Hillsboro. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, camping and working in his backyard. He was a member of the Beaverton Elks. He was preceded in death by four siblings. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Von Hollen; children, Richard E. Von Hollen Jr., Robert Von Hollen and Kathy Voye Hollen; sister, Maxine Carlson; five grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. Sign the guest book at www.westsidecremation.com.
