Otto G. Zurburg
A memorial service for Otto G. Zurburg, a retired farmer, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethany Presbyterian Church. Mr. Zurburg died Tuesday in a Hillsboro care center. He was 81.
Mr. Zurburg was born in Portland and attended Hillsboro schools. He worked as a boiler fireman for Coopers Jedge Lumber and Mill in Portland's St. Johns during World War II in the U.S. Later Mr. Zurburg worked full time as a farmer, raising grain and poultry, until his retirement in 1980.
He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, where he directed the choir for 25 years, and he also was a member of the Christian Business Men's Conference.
Survivors include his wife, Alma of Portland; sons, Eugene and Roy, both of Portland; sister, Hulda Zurburg of Hillsboro; and four grandsons.
Burial was in Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to a memorial fund in his name in care of Bethany Presbyterian Church.
