Marie M. Berger, memorial Sunday Marie M. Berger, 91, a former resident of Hillsboro, died Feb. 18, 1992, at Whidbey Island Manor in Oak Harbor, Wash. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Portland. Interment will be Saturday. Mrs. Berger was born Oct. 22, 1900, in Hillsboro, a daughter of John and Magdalena Meier. She married Fred W. Berger in Hillsboro and he died in 1949. Mrs. Berger lived in Hillsboro until February 1991, when she moved to Oak Harbor, Wash. Survivors include a son, Lowell V. Berger, Portland; two daughters, Jean M. Zylstra, Oak Harbor, Wash., and Virginia M. Larkey, Buena Park, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James R. Berger, two sisters and four brothers. The family suggests memorial contributions to Bethany Presbyterian Church, the American Bible Society, or a charity of choice. Burnleewe-Bass Funeral Home of Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements and will announce a complete obituary.
