Frank L. Buehler, 96, archeology buff
Frank LaFollette Buehler, 96, Hillsboro, died Feb. 17, 2009.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 15505 NW Springville Road, Hillsboro.
Mr. Buehler was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Portland, a son of John and Louise Buehler.
He served in two Jima during World War II and proudly remembered having Easter services at the foot of Mt. Suribachi American flag.
He worked at the Pied-mont Post Office in Portland until retirement.
He was a last charter member of the Oregon archeology Society he also belonged to the Oregon Historical Society and was a member of Beaverton Masonic Lodge No. 100. He was an active member of the Columbia River Gorge Interpretive Center and the Lelooska Foundation.
Survivors include his wife, Sherran Buehler; a son and daughter-in-law, John and Karyn Buehler; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ed Block; nieces, Elmer Burgy Buehler and Trudy McDonough; and two grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
