Esther M. Stuckey, life-long resident
Esther Melva Stuckey, 84, Hillsboro, died Oct. 14, 1988, at her home.
Private graveside services were held Monday in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held Saturday 2 p.m. with George and Dwayne Brown of the church officiating.
She was born Jan. 25, 1904, in Hillsboro, the 10th of 12 children. She was raised on the family farm in Bethany and attended McKinley Bethany school.
As a young woman, she worked in Portland for a number of years. She later returned to the family farm, where she helped run it and maintained the family home until later moving to Hillsboro.
She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church all her life. She taught Sunday school for many years and played the pump organ and later the electric organ for church and Sunday school.
She enjoyed arts and crafts work, including quilting. She also enjoyed photography and was involved in the movie "The History of Bethany".
Survivors include three sisters, Ruth Kestek, West Linn, Edna Berger, Hillsboro; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Bethany Presbyterian Church.
Brunlee-Bass Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
