Edna Berger, 83, life-long resident
Edna Berger, 83, Hillsboro, died Jan. 26, 1990, at Tuality Community Hospital of causes related to aging.
Funeral services were held Monday at Bethany Presbyterian Church with the Revs. John Harlan and Helen Lewis officiating.
Interment services were private.
Mrs. Berger was born July 4, 1906, daughter of Elise Zimmerman Stucky. She was raised in the Bethany area and attended McKinley Grade School.
On Dec. 4, 1935, she married Henry Berger in the Stucky family home in Bethany and they farmed the Stucky farm.
Her husband died in 1964.
Mrs. Berger was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a lifetime member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and Bethany Ladies Aid Society and Shipmates.
In her younger years, she served as a 4-H leader and was instrumental in beginning the school lunch program as her family was growing up.
She enjoyed sewing, tatting, crocheting, canning, cooking, quilting and gardening.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Judy Berger, all of Hillsboro; and three daughters and sons-in-law, Leanore and Donald Weber, Seattle, Evelyn and Warren Dunkin, Denver, Colo.
