David Ediger, 86, life-long resident
David H. Ediger, 86, Hillsboro, died May 18, 1992, at Tuality Community Hospital of emphysema and heart problems.
A memorial service was to be held at 1 p.m. today (Thursday) at Orenco Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery.
Mr. Ediger was born Nov. 30, 1905, in Bethany. He had lived in the Hillsboro/Bethany area all his life.
In 1926 he and George Foge opened Cedar Mills Garage, which he operated until it was sold in 1957. He then worked 13 years as a mechanic for Wolf Creek Highway Water District before his retirement in November 1970.
He married Ann Rowland in 1946 and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Ediger, Hillsboro; a daughter, Dolores McMurtry, Portland; a son, Raymond D. Ediger, Frederick, Md.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Annie Hatch, Portland; and a brother-in-law, George Foge, Portland.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Orenco Presbyterian Church. Funeral Home Sklyline Memorial Funeral Home of Portland was in charge of arrangements.
