Maurice Joseph VanDyke was born on the farm in St. Paul on March 27, 1937.  He attended St. Paul School.  He did not go to Hight School.  He was left handicapped after serious surgery when he was just a few months old.  He spent the rest of his life working on his parents' farm.  He was creative and loved to tinker.  He died in a small forest accident on February 12, 1971.  He never married and was 33 years old at the time of his death.
