Ruth Kestek, 96 Ruth of Bethany native of Bethany WEST LINN—Ruth Kestek, 96, West Linn, died Aug. 20, 1998, at Mountain View Rehabilitation Center. Memorial services were to be 2 p.m. today at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in West Linn with pastors Paul and Cathy Quackenbush officiating. Graveside services were this morning in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery. Mrs. Kestek was born Jan. 7, 1902, in Bethany, a daughter of Fred and Elise Zimmerman Stuckey. She was raised in Bethany. Pastors Paul and Cathy Quackenbush officiating Ruth Kestek On Sept. 16, 1925, she married Henry Kestek at the family home. They lived in Portland until moving to a farm in West Linn in 1931, where they lived the remainder of their lives. She helped with all aspects of the farm life. Her husband died in 1975, after some 50 years of marriage. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Beverly Kestek, West Linn; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille and Steve Reed, Corvallis, and Mildred and Ronald Akers, Hawthorne, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Kestek. The family suggests memorial contributions to Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, 1920 Willamette Drive, West Linn, OR 97068.
