Ray Emmet Byers A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Bethany Presbyterian Church for Ray Emmet Byers, who died Nov. 17 at age 84. Mr. Byers was born April 6, 1919, in Portland. He served in the Navy dur- ing World War II and received the Purple Heart. A lifelong resident of Portland, he was the owner of Cas- cade Rubber Products. In 1941, he married Mildred Mickelson. Survivors include his wife; sons, Ken, Ron, Steve and Jim; eight grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. Remembrances to Bethany Presby- terian Memorial Fund.
