Herbert Linder, 90, services Tuesday
PORTLAND—Herbert Linder, 90, a life-long resident of the metro area, died Sept. 2, 1992, at his home of causes related to age.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Skyline Funeral Home in Portland. Visitation will continue Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interment will be in Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery.
Mr. Linder was born Nov. 25, 1901, in Portland, one of 11 children of John and Elizabeth Etter Linder, who had come to Northwest Portland from Switzerland in 1870. Mr. Linder was a twin, and his twin brother, Mike, died in 1985. Sauvie Island.
The family moved to Sauvie Island in 1927 and remained there for 20 years before returning to the 20 years area of Northwest Portland Bethany. Mr. Linder had lived on the family farm since.
He attended Germantown Grade School.
Mr. Linder was a grain, dairy, beet and hay farmer. He attended Bethany Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sisters, Bertha Dysle, Portland; Vern V. Dysle, both Cook; and three nephews, Etta Barnes, of Pennsylvania, Geraldine Stoller, Independence, and Ruth Nordling, Portland.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Doernbecher Children's Hospital or a charity of choice.
