Obituary
Rita M. Williams, 74, a resident of the Verboort community, died Sunday evening, December 11, 2016 at her home.
Rita was born in Dayton, Oregon Jan. 1, 1942. She moved to Greenville with her family when she was three. She attended St. Francis Elementary School in Roy and graduated from Banks High School. She worked as a shift supervisor in the JC Penney Regional Credit Office in Portland for thirteen years. In the mid 70's she left this job to go to nursing school. After receiving her RN degree she worked as a charge nurse and later as director of nursing service at Maryville Nursing Home in Beaverton before retiring in 2004. Verboort has been Rita's home since 1970. She married Jeff Williams in 1991. In 2006 she obtained her Master Gardener certification from the Oregon State Extension Service in Tillamook County. Rita was a member of Visitation Catholic Church in Verboort and St. Mary by the Sea Catholic Church in Rockaway Beach. Rita also belonged to the Willamette Valley Samoyed Fanciers and The Samoyed Club of America. She is survived by her husband Jeff Williams, her two beloved Samoyeds Cassie and Jade, sister Sr. Theresa Ann Bunker, SSMO; Godchildren Cheyanne Vandehey and Morgan Kindel; sister-in-law Margaret Bunker, brother-in-law Randy Williams; nephews Mike Kindel, Richard Armstrong, Keith Armstrong, Ken Bunker, Joe Bunker, Dave Bunker, Bob Bunker, nieces Jane Kindel, Julie Ellingson, Karen Hancock, Debbie Lesieur, Carol Clark and Amy Hofrock and several great nieces and great nephews.
