Owen Emmit Goans, Born August 4, 1936 To Clona E and Ruby J Goans.
Owen moved to Missouri with his father Clona and sister Georgia. It was there that they met their forever mom Frieda and was joined with a new brother Bud and sisters Marilyn, Deloris, and Charline. Over the next five years sisters Klona Sue, Christina Kay and brother Roger were added to the family. In 2008, after 65 years, Owen was reunited with his brother Tom.
In 1951 the family moved to Oregon. Owen graduated from Cornelius grade school in 1952 and Hillsboro High School in 1956. He met his wife Leola in 1955 and they were married in 1958. This year in April they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Owen's love of coaching and playing sports was known to all. He was a dedicated mail man for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
He is survived by his wife Leola, son John Goans (wife Janine), daughter Sandy McDowall (husband Mark), three grandchildren, Felicia, Nic, and Will, and many nieces and nephews.
