Obituary

Monty Daily, 62, a resident of the Forest Grove community passed away on Friday December 23, 2016 at the Avemere Rehab of Hillsboro.

Monty was born on September 5, 1954 in Hillsboro, OR.  He was one of three children born to Maurice and Mary (Wilkison) Daily.He was raised in Forest Grove and attended Forest Grove High School graduating with the Class of 1972.

He met his future wife; Pamela Vandehey; While at a graduation party. They soon began dating and following a two year courtship they were married on June 12, 1976 at St Anthony Catholic Church in Forest Grove. They had two children; Rose and Cristina "Tina"and made their home in Forest Grove.

Monty was a salesman all of his life. He first started in the telecommunications industry working selling business telephone systems to corporate clients. He later worked at Flightcom selling communication devices for airplanes. His last occupation was for a security firm; Alutiiq, installing security systems for the federal government.

Monty's love of travel was expanded by his work, which took him across the country and around the world.  He enjoyed visiting historical sites and being outdoors, especially camping and hiking with his family when they were younger. He liked hunting, fishing, and took interest in watching NASCAR races after his time spent working in South Carolina. Monty had a passion for cooking and watching culinary TV programs.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother; Martin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Pam, two daughters; Rose Daily-Haverland and Tina Daily both of Forest Grove, a sister; Maurine Huffman ofTacoma and a niece and nephew; Angie Wiesner and Evan Huffman.

The family suggest donations in Monty's name to Care Partners Hospice & Palliative.
