Fernando Felix LaHaie was born on 18 May 1850, in Saint-Placide, Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, Canada, his father, Jérémie Lahaie, was 23 and his mother, Marcelle-Léocadie Proulx, was 20. He married Marie Margaret Jeanne de Chantal Bertrand on 25 August 1873, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 6 daughters. He lived in Gaston Oregon then Verboort Oregon. He died on 8 April 1943 at the age of 92, and is buried in Visitation Cemetery, Verboort Oregon
