Anna Marie Krieger Funeral services for Anna MarieKreiger, 101, of Verboort were held Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Visitation Catholic Church with Bishop Kenneth Steiner of the Portland Archdiocese and the Rev. James Harris of Visitation Church officiating. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held Monday at the church. Mrs. Krieger died Friday, Oct. 8 at McMinnville. Burial was at Visitation Catholic Cemetery. * Mrs. Krieger was born July 15, 1881 in Verboort to Peter and Antonia Evers. She was married to John A. Krieger Nov. 9, 1904 at Verboort. Mr. Krieger was the last of the original caravan of Dutch settlers who came from Wisconsin to settle in the Verboort area. He died in 1953. Mrs. Krieger, who was the oldest native of Visitation Parish in Verboort, received her education in the Verboort School. After she was married, the couple moved to Centerville, but later moved back to Verboort where they continued to farme r Mrs. Kreiger was a member of Visitation Catholic Church, the Altar Society, the Legion of Mary, the Rosary Club, the Lady Foresters and the Visitation Choir. She never spent a day of her life in the hospital. She enjoyed gardening, card games, camping and fishing. Surviving are her sons, Vincent Krieger of Portland, Ernest Krieger of Verboort, Norbert Krieger of Banks and Ed Krieger of Forest Grove; a daughter, Loretta LaVoie of McMinnville; 40 grandchildren, 75 greatgrandchildren and eight great-greatgrandchildren. Four children died before her: Marie Giesbers, Julius, Francis cis and Ernest Krieger.
