Londa Marie Kandle, age 60, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 2, 2011, while touring Turkey with her husband, Terry.
Londa was born in Grass Valley, Calif., of parents Jim and Mildred Miller, who were long-term residents of Garibaldi.
Londa is survived by her husband of ten years, Terry, of Garibaldi; brothers, Tom Miller, of Cornelius, and Jim Miller, of Lincoln City; sons, John Giesbers, of Vancouver, Grant Giesbers, of St. Helens, and Travis Giesbers, of Beaverton; her beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Ashley, Madison, Brandon, and Mathew; and nieces and nephews.
Londa and Terry were married Nov. 11, 2001, and enjoyed many trips together to places that included Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Hawaii.
Londa was a dedicated servant of the Lord and managed the Christian Education program and established the “Clothes for Children Program” at Rockaway Beach Community Church. The “Clothes for Children Program” provided new clothes and shoes for less fortunate children returning to school.
Londa was also a dedicated Red Cross Disaster Response Volunteer and responded to many local and national disasters over the last ten years. Londa was also the Tillamook County Red Cross volunteer Coordinator.
Services will be held at the Rockaway Beach Community Church on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m., and will be followed by a reception. Following the reception, graveside services will be held in Verboort, Ore.
A memorial fund has been established at the US Bank for people who might like to contribute funds to the “Clothes for Children Program.” Flowers would also be welcome.
