ohn Franklin Kindel, 75, a resident of the Banks community passed away on April 9, 2025 at his home.

John was born on March 19, 1951 in Hillsboro, OR He was the fourth of seven children born to Cecil and Louise (Ruckman) Kindel. He was raised on the family farm in Hillsboro. He attended Hillsboro High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. Most of his childhood was working on the family farm.

His first job outside the farm was at Carnation Can in Hillsboro. He them began working for Clearwater services in Forest Grove until he retired in 2009.

John enjoyed motorcycles, 4x4 trucks RC planes and building things with metal. He loved his dog, Suzie, watched westerns and liked to work on old cars and trucks. He was an avid gardener and was always enjoying the quiet times on his small farm.

He is preceded in death by his parent, his daughter, Cathryn Willard and one sibling, Frank Kindel.

He is survived by his daughter and her spouse, Olivia and Jim Myers of Banks, five siblings, Bobbie Luttrell, Kitty Landauer, Kathie Bishop and her spouse Roger, Greg Kindel and his spouse Diana, Morris Kindel and his spouse Lee Anne, five grandchildren, Cecilia, Josie, Kaylee, Steven and Shyann.
