Brian E. Herinckx, 50, a resident of the Cornelius community, died Wednesday morning, January 9, 2008 as the result of a motor vehicle accident in Cornelius, OR
Holy Rosary will be said at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2007 at the Visitation Catholic Church; 4289 NW Visitation Rd in Verboort, OR
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Visitation Catholic Church in Verboort.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception to follow to be held at the Harris Center in Verboort, OR. following the Funeral Mass
Interment will happen at the Evers Family Cemetery in Verboort, OR following the reception.
Brian was born on August 1, 1957 in Hillsboro, Oregon. He was one of 8 children born to John J. and Florence M (Evers) Herinckx. He was raised on the family farm in Cornelius and received his education at Visitation Grade school as well as Peter Basco Grade School. Brian was a graduate from Hillsboro High school class of 1975.
He was united in marriage to Cathy Benefiel on June 2, 1979 in Roy, OR. Following their marriage they made their home on the family farm in Cornelius, OR. They divorced in 2003. Brian continued to live on the family farm in Cornelius, OR. On December 30, 2006 he met Karen Price at a mutual friends house. Soon after they became good friends and have been together since.
Brian had worked for the City of Hillsboro for over seven years as a publics works employee. He had also worked in fabrication and welding for several shops throughout the Verboort area. Brian was a current president of the Washington County Livestock Association as well as the Swine Barn Superintendant at the Washington Co Fair. He was a past member of the Visitation School Board and had been a mentor for his children FFA and 4-H projects. He was a cook at the Verboort sausage dinner and was also a cook at the Livestock associations steak feed.
He enjoyed building things from metal; he had built a gazebo, a squirrel feeder and a water mill for his yard. His favorite color was yellow and he enjoyed spring and summer. He hunted elk, deer and ducks. He liked to grow things in his garden and to visit his parents. He loved his dogs, he rode motorcycle and smoked sausage and turkeys. He was close to his family and friends. Recently he started traveling abroad; he traveled to France, Italy, Dominican Republic and Ireland. He enjoyed new places and new friends.
He is preceded in death by his father John J. Herinckx who had passed on May 21, 2007.
Survivors include his mother; Florence Herinckx of the family home; four children and their spouses; Bryce and Roddina Herinckx of Banks, OR, Jacqueline Scofield of Vancouver, WA., Cassie and Chris Kephart of Forest Grove, OR, Dyllan Herinckx of Forest Grove, OR, seven siblings and their spouses; John O. Herinckx of Christmas Valley, OR, Aldon and Linda Herinckx of Puyallup, WA, Marietta Herinckx of Pendleton, OR, Gwenda and Bob Neale of Hillsboro, OR, Patricia and Kim Vandehey of Aloha, OR, Lael Morris of Beaverton, OR, Megan and Mike Phillip of Scappoose, OR, two grandchildren; Elise and Hunter and many nieces and nephews.
