Lena G. Herb, IT, Verboort native FOREST GROVE-Recitation of the Holy Rosary and a Mass of Christian Burial were held Wednesday for Lena G. Herb, 77, Forest Grove. Mrs. Herb died May 23, 1987, at Oak Villa Care Center in Hillsboro. Wednesday's services were held at Visitation Roman Catholic Church in Verboort and interment followed in Visitation Cemetery in Verboort. Mrs. Herb was born Dec. 14, 1909, in Verboort, a daughter of Emil and Anna Smith Crop. On Sept. 14, 1932, she married Francis Herb and they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last fall. She was educated in Verboort and at Forest Grove High School and lived in the Forest Grove/Verboort area all her life. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. Mrs. Herb's hobbies included quilting and gardening and she was a member of Visitation Catholic Church and Visitation Altar Society. Survivors include her husband, Francis Herb, Forest Grove; two sons, Robert F. Herb, Aloha, and Gene Herb, Forest Grove; a daughter, Carolyn Duyck, Cornelius; 18 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; a brother, V.E. "Bob" Crop, Banks; and sisters, Minnie Bernards, McMinnville, Sister Mary Carmel, Beaverton, Marjorie LaHaie, Hillsboro and Eileen Vandehey,
