Douglas Reed Grant
Douglas Reed Grant was born December 31, 1964 in Coos Bay, Oregon the son of Bernal A. & Carol E. Grant. In 1969 Doug moved with his family to Albany, Oregon. He attended and graduated from West Albany High School in 1983. Doug attended Linn-Benton Community College and graduated with an Associate's Degree. In 1989 he graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. After his graduation he began working for Softouch Software in Portland and worked for them until December of 1991. Doug then went to work for Van Dyke Seed Co. in Forest Grove and worked there until his health prevented him from working. Doug was a designer of computer software. He loved all sports especially basketball. He played on the Albany Boys Club team and on school teams from the age of 6. He ran Cross Country for fun and in October of 1991 he competed in the Albany Recycling run. While at O.S.U. he was Disc Jockey for station KBVR. Prior to moving to Beaverton in March of 1992 he lived at John's Landing, in Portland. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Albany. Douglas was preceded in death by his father Bernal A. Grant. Surviving are Doug's wife, Jill M. Grant of Beaverton, his mother Carol Grant of Albany, Sisters, Linda Grant of Corvallis & Kathryn Grant of Portland. Father-in-law & Mother-in-law Gene & Betty Lewis of Forest Grove, Grandmothers, Betty Grant Short of Pasadena, CA. & Kay Stewart of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. Uncles, Robert Grant of Venice, CA, Ken Grant of Vacaville, CA, & Graham Stewart of Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, & Aunt, Barbara Richardson of Pasadena, CA. Family & Friends are invited to a reception in the Visitation Parish Center, immediately following the graveside services.
