Jay Phillips, born on October 24, 1953, to Lindy and Mary Lou Phillips, passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 71. He is survived by his daughters, Jayme, Stacie, and Katy; nine grandchildren, Alexa, Tristan, Jezzie, Jillian, Camden, Johnny, Chloe, Natalie, and Isabele; his great-granddaughter, Scarlett; and his sister, Jenny Smith.

Jay had a deep love for St. Paul, where he spent much of his life. A passionate sports fan, he found great joy in coaching football and sharing his enthusiasm for the game. One of his proudest accomplishments was leading St. Paul to the 2002 State Championship.

His legacy lives on through his daughters, grandchildren, and the many lives he touched. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 15 at Attrell’s in Newberg, followed by a celebration of life at 2 p.m. at St. Paul City Hall.
