James Butterfield
Obituary
Jim passed away peacefully and is now with his beloved wife, Patricia. Born to Gerald Butterfield and Marjorie Drummond in Salem, Oregon, and preceded in death by his brother, Gerald (Jerry) Butterfield.
Jim attended Marysville grade school and Franklin high school, graduating in 1956. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army Reserve attaining a rank of Specialist-4. From there, he worked at Brown Bearing Company where he met his wife, Patricia (Pat) Williams. They wed on February 7, 1959 and were married until her death on September 30, 2011. They had 3 children, daughters Tammy Hill and Susan Miller, and son Timothy Butterfield. In 1963 he began his career at Westinghouse Electric Supply where he held several positions, working up to Administrative Branch Manager, retiring in 1998. In his free time, he enjoyed camping, golf, league bowling and most of all fishing, mainly steelhead and salmon. After retirement, he moved to Redmond, Oregon where he and Pat enjoyed taking the RV and boat out to various lakes and campgrounds; a favorite spot being Diamond Lake. Jim eventually moved back to the Portland area and in 2015, he met and married Lise Lindstrom. They were married until her death on March 13, 2025. Jim is also survived by sister Joanne Dutton; sister-in-law Dalyn Butterfield; grandchildren Carol Turley, Shane Plebuch, Victoria Plebuch, and Stephanie Miller; 5 great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: Friday, February 20, 11:00 am, at St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Paul, Oregon.
