Nancy Luann Riddell was born to Joe and Glendal Crites on September 2, 1958, and was the third oldest of eight children.
Luann attended Hillsboro High School but quickly left to become a wife, mother and homemaker. Luann was previously married to Mickey and is the mother of four children, Shane, Mark, April and Angel.
Luann spent most of her adult years as a homemaker, but as her children grew up, she decided to work outside of the home. This decision brought her to meet the love of her life and best friend, Mark.
Luann enjoyed baking, gardening, spending time with her family, caring for others, especially those less fortunate. Luann’s love of helping others sparked the selflessness of fostering children within her daughter, Angel, who foster failed three children, adopting them as her own, and giving them a permanent family.
Even the neighborhood kids considered Luann a second mom, always nurturing and there for someone in need. Luann was one who told the truth when you asked her for an honest opinion. People went to her when they needed to hear hard things.
In her later years, Luann was a caregiver of family and reveled in the opportunity to lead people to the Lord. She lived her life in the lane “The Lord loves me”.
Five days after Mark passed away, Luann discovered her lung cancer had returned and metastasized. Luann was reunited with Mark on June 8, 2025.
Luann was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Glendal, her first husband, Mickey, her sons Shane and Mark, and a baby brother Joey.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, April and Jesse Meyer, and Angel and Ryan Wilson.
Her grandchildren, Hannah, Alexus, Cole, Grady, Ally, Cade, Cari, Casen, Piper, Cambelle, Cruz and Cash.
Her great grandchildren: Shane and Shawn.
Her siblings: Marilyn Roberts, Gail Brennan, Cheryl Crites, Lisa Morrison, Tracy Crites, Jolene Vice, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, her Aunt Leona Crites and Uncle Dean Smith.

On June 16, 2001, Mark and Luann were married in their botanical backyard surrounded by their large family and many friends.
Together, Mark and Luann enjoyed camping in Eastern Oregon, at Fort Stevens, and Jordan Creek, fishing, and traveling in their motorhome to Montana.
Mark’s favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, which drove Luann crazy as she felt this was literally lighting money on fire. Luann enjoyed finding good deals at garage sales but often found that taking Mark with her slowed her down because he would strike up a good conversation with the owner or another shopper.
They spent years designing and sculpting their backyard together, but they were just as happy doing nothing as long as they were together.
Mark and Luann were lucky to find each other later in life and spent 30 wonderful years together.
