Cynthia Jean Scott
Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Cynthia "Cindi" Scott on June 16, 2025. Cindi was born into this world on December 19, 1957, and made it a brighter place for those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
There are few who radiated the genuine goodness and love that Cindi did in her lifetime. Her spirit was benevolent and caring, making all who knew her feel welcomed and loved. Her unwavering strength and commitment to bettering the lives of those around her will remain a beacon of hope and inspiration for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
One of Cindi’s greatest achievements was 40 years of sobriety from drugs and alcohol, which she celebrated with her family in March of 2025. An integral part of her recovery journey was her profession as a drug and alcohol counselor. Through her work, Cindi touched and transformed hundreds of lives, providing hope and a new beginning for those battling drug and alcohol addiction. This work left a profoundly positive impact on the lives of her clients as well as her community.
Cindi was not only a mentor by profession, but also life teacher and a valued friend to many. She taught us how to live life with purpose and humor, how to be generous, and how to embrace the challenges life throws at us—particularly through her own sobriety journey.
Cindi’s legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered by her beloved husband, Steven Olson, her three wonderful children, Shaun Scott, Christopher Scott and Jessica Stine, and her six cherished grandchildren. When recently asked what the meaning of life is, Cindi responded, “kids.” Cindi strongly believed in healing generational trauma, and in so doing making the world a better place. Her children continue this pursuit to honor her legacy.
Cindi's life is a testament to the fact that one person's kindness, generosity, and love can leave an indelible mark on the world. We will remember her not only for the love she so freely gave but also for the strength, resilience, and unfaltering faith she showed us all.
Her spirit will continue to shine brightly forever.
