To the right side: 'MOTHER' above 'CATHERINE CHALMERS' with birth-death dates '1827-1895'. The engraving is in raised capital letters, slightly worn and mossy in places. No symbols, emblems, epitaphs, crosses, flowers, flags, or mementos are visible. The stone is surrounded by patchy grass, dirt, and small weeds in a cemetery plot, with natural sunlight casting shadows.
