A flat gray granite gravestone marker lying on the ground in a grassy cemetery plot. The stone features engraved text: 'Beloved Mother, Grandmother & Friend' above the name 'BARBARA M. LAVALLEY'. Birth and death dates are inscribed as 'Mar. 15, 1943' and 'Aug. 28, 2015'. Below the dates is a carved scenic relief depicting mountains under clouds, rocky shoreline, water with waves, and a small island or rock formation in the water, possibly evoking a peaceful lakeside or coastal scene. At the bottom is an epitaph: 'I had the time of my life... What is next?'. The stone has a polished surface with slightly weathered edges, surrounded by green grass, scattered small twigs, branches, and dirt. No flowers, flags, or other mementos are visible.
